Frank Ferreri
Frank has felt connected to jazz since he was a child.  Born in Staten
Island, NY, Frank held his first pair of drumsticks at the age of five.
Long awaited formal lessons began at 13 at the Staten Island Music
Center with Pete Labadia.

While most young teens were engrossed in the music of The Beatles
and The Stones, Frank found himself drawn to jazz interpretations of
Coltrane, Miles and Elvin Jones and the energy that drove them.
Eventually the opportunity arose to study with jazz greats Sonny
Igoe and Ed Soph who opened up a world of information, technique
and freedom.

After performing with local bands on Staten Island in 1978, Frank
subbed for Ronnie Bedford and Louis Hays with The Chuck Wayne
Quartet periodically for the next few years.  In 1987 he became a
permanent member of Chuck Wayne’s legendary Quartet performing
and touring with jazz artists Al Haig, Jamaile Nasser, Don Friedman,
Lyn Christi, Gary Mazzaroppi, Tom Butts, and Harv
ie S among
others.
For a short time during this period he performed with the Warren
Chiasson Trio and the Alyse Levy Quartet.
After Chuck Wayne’s retirement in 1994, Frank joined The Tom Butts
Quartet.
Frank Ferreri’s recordings to date include:
Tom Butts-Chuck Wayne --- “Alberta Clipper”
Don Friedman Quartet --- “Matchpoint”
Alyse Levy Quartet --- “Time After Time”
Jeanne Morgan --- “I Wish You Love” and “By Request”

At present time, Frank continues to co-create the music he loves with
